Aqua Craft Buffer # 2

Aqua Craft’s Buffer #2, also known as the Buffer + dKH Generator, is a specialized solution designed to maintain optimal water chemistry in marine aquariums. This product is formulated to automatically adjust the pH level of saltwater tanks to the ideal 8.4, while simultaneously increasing alkalinity or carbonate hardness (dKH). Maintaining these parameters is crucial for the health and vitality of marine life, including corals, invertebrates, and fish.

Key Features:

• pH Stabilization: Buffer #2 ensures that the aquarium’s pH remains consistently at 8.4, preventing fluctuations that can stress aquatic organisms.

• Alkalinity Enhancement: By boosting carbonate hardness, this product supports the structural integrity of corals and promotes robust biological functions.

Importance of pH and Alkalinity in Marine Aquariums:

In marine ecosystems, pH and alkalinity are interdependent factors that influence the overall health of the environment. A stable pH of 8.4 is optimal for most marine species, as it mirrors natural seawater conditions. Alkalinity, measured in degrees of carbonate hardness (dKH), acts as a buffer against pH swings, ensuring a stable environment. Proper alkalinity levels are essential for calcifying organisms, such as corals and certain algae, as they rely on carbonate ions to build their skeletons and structures.

Product Application and Dosage:

To use Aqua Craft’s Buffer #2, follow the manufacturer’s recommended dosage instructions based on your aquarium’s volume and current water parameters. Regular testing of pH and alkalinity is advised to monitor the tank’s condition and adjust dosing as necessary. Gradual adjustments are recommended to avoid sudden changes that could adversely affect tank inhabitants.
